What we do
Alliance aims to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among philanthropists, social investors and others working for social change worldwide in order to maximize the impact of funding for social development.
To meet this mission statement, we deliver the following:
Alliance magazine is the leading magazine for philanthropy and social investment worldwide. Since 1996 it has provided news and analysis of what’s happening in the philanthropy and social investment sectors across the world. It also acts as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among practitioners.
As well as news and conference reports, articles, book reviews and opinion columns, each issue has a special in-depth feature on some key aspect of philanthropy and social investment, with contributors from around the world and expert guest editors.

In addition to the subscriber only content Alliance also regularly makes its content free to read by all. This includes features, articles and interviews hand selected from recent issues or from Alliance Extra. Much of our fully searchable archive is also free to read by all. Alliance Breakfast Club A quarterly free event, bringing together leading philanthropy practitioners, non-profit leaders, academics and others in London to discuss questions arising from the special feature in the latest issue of the magazine. The discussion is led by a panel of leading experts on the topic, where possible including one of the guest editors or other contributors to the special feature.
Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize An annual prize event where we award £5,000 for an individual who has demonstrated remarkable leadership, creativity and results in developing philanthropy for progressive social change in an emerging market country or countries.

Since 1 January 2007 Alliance magazine has been published by Alliance Publishing Trust.
