Deadline extended for nominations for 2016 Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize

The closing date for nominations for the Fourth Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize has been extended to 31 May.

The Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize exists to highlight examples of leadership and creativity in promoting philanthropy in an emerging market country or countries. All finalists will be featured in a special supplement to be published with the September 2016 issue of Alliance.

If you know someone who has been doing outstanding work in developing philanthropy in your country, why not nominate them for the Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize? Read more about the prize and nominate someone here.

The £5,000 annual prize will be for the individual winner to use at their discretion. The winner will be invited to deliver a keynote speech at the Global Summit on Community Philanthropy hosted by the Global Fund for Community Foundations in South Africa in December. All finalists will be funded to attend the event.

Last year’s Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize was awarded to Alina Porumb, strategic philanthropy programme director of Romania’s Association for Community Relations (ARC), for ‘the scale and quality of her accomplishments; her ‘indefatigable and inspiring leadership in support of the development of community foundations across Romania’; her intellectual leadership and her outreach internationally’.

The Olga Alexeeva Memorial Prize and all associated activities are generously funded by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, CS Mott Foundation, The Lodestar Foundation and Charities Aid Foundation.
