The next installment of Alliance Audio on ‘fake news and philanthropy’ will be recorded live from the European Foundation Centre Conference in Brussels on 20 May 2018.
Inspired by the European Year of Culture, this year’s European Foundation Centre conference will feature a series of topical sessions, exciting exhibitions and thought-provoking visits on the theme of “Culture Matters: connecting citizens, uniting communities”. Taking place in Brussels from 29 May until 31 May, the EFC’s 29th Annual General Assembly and Conference, will convene more than 600 philanthropic leaders and representatives from foundations, not-for profit organisations, academia and policymakers.
Last year Alliance magazine launched the podcast series Alliance Audio to debate key issues in philanthropy with guests across the foundation world. The five epidoes so far have covered a range of topics, From Philanthropy payouts to the The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and included guests including Dilhani Wijeyesekera from Comic Relief, Paul Streets the chief executive of the Lloyds Bank Foundation trust, and Carol Mack of the UK Association of Charitable Foundations.
The sixth episode will be on trust and truth in a culture of fake news what role can philanthropy play. Sign up to our newsletter to stay keep updated on who will feature on the episode.
