A new online resource, www.charitysri.org, has just been launched which will enable charities, including trusts and foundations, to align their investments with their mission. Developed by the EIRIS Foundation and UK Social Investment Forum, the website is specifically targeted at UK charities, but much of the content is relevant for charitable organizations in any location.

The website offers simple step-by-step guidance on the approaches, issues and options available, including how to adopt ethical or socially responsible investments, the kinds of investments available, financial performance, and the use of positive screening, negative screening and engagement with companies to encourage more responsible business practices. UK-based charities can also gather information on the legal context and on what socially responsible investment (SRI) products and services are available. The website also includes a section for service providers to encourage and help them to provide appropriate and tailored financial advice, services and products for charities and to broaden the current range of available products and services.
