Jeff Raikes has been CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for just over 18 months. He took up the post in September 2008, after 27 years with Microsoft. How does he see the Gates Foundation achieving the scale to match its huge investments, Caroline Hartnell asked him. Partnerships, partnerships, partnerships is the answer, for the Gates Foundation as it was for Microsoft – with government, business and NGOs. The biggest challenge: making people realize that success is possible.
