First community foundation for Egypt

The Community Foundation for South Sinai has been established as Egypt’s first community foundation. It aims to attract support from both local and international companies and individuals and its grantmaking will prioritize sustainable development and relief of immediate need. The main beneficiaries will be Bedouins from several tribes, many of whom live in extreme poverty. Though registered in Egypt, funds will be held in the UK as well as in Egypt. The foundation hopes to have a website early this year.
