Attacks threatening development work in Bangladesh

Perpetrators of frequent bomb and grenade attacks have made the development activities of NGOs their targets, NGO leaders said at a meeting of the Federation of NGOs in Bangladesh (FNB) in early March. They expressed grave concern over terrorist attacks on political rallies, high-profile personalities, cultural and religious gatherings, NGOs and journalists. FNB leaders urged the government to take firm action against the attacks, which they said were disrupting development work in the country, and passed a resolution to press ahead with preventive measures in conjunction with local authorities.
