EFC – Foundations in the spotlight during ‘Foundation Week’

Foundations will take centre stage as the EFC organizes the first-ever ‘Foundation Week’, between 31 May and 4 June in Brussels next year. The week will feature:

  • a broad set of events open to the public, allowing them to understand and connect with foundations;
  • foundations meeting face to face with EU representatives;
  • EFC members convening for their Annual General Assembly and Conference (2-4 June).

The week’s activities will provide an opportunity to bring together foundations and other actors in civil society, the EU institutions and the general public for a look at the work foundations do and the important role they play in every aspect of European life. They will include policy seminars, public debates, exhibitions and fairs, all with a European focus.

The SquareEFC members and other participants are encouraged to use the week to announce new initiatives. In addition to the above-mentioned key activities, there will be space available for organizations, groups and initiatives to convene parallel events, similar to satellite events in previous EFC conferences.

The main venue for the Foundation Week will be ‘Square’, a newly designed conference centre located in the museum district of Brussels, close to transport links and accommodation of all price ranges. With the very latest amenities, Square will provide an ideal space for minds to meet and ideas to flow.
