Report divines new trend in Latin American corporate volunteering

According to a recent survey on volunteering, there is growing evidence of the emergence of a corporate volunteering model in Latin America where the focus is on transformation, instead of simple ‘help’, and the exercise of the right of citizen participation, instead of ‘doing something good’. The research, which is based on interviews with volunteers, was published last month in The State of the Art of Corporate Volunteering report, compiled by the IAVE’s Global Corporate Volunteer Council, which looked at trends in corporate volunteering throughout the world. The report cites cases of corporate volunteering in Brazil where employees of different companies work on common projects or where company volunteers and benefiting communities choose and work on the projects together.
