The Invest in People campaign will launch on GivingTuesday, 1 December 2020, with support from WINGS and TechSoup. The campaign, which will highlight the struggles of the nonprofit sector during the pandemic, will run through the end of the year.
‘With generous assistance from [WINGS and TechSoup], we expect to make contact to approximately to 600,000 NGOs and CSOs around the world’, said Peter Brach, Manager of the Funders 2025 Fund, and Chief Organiser of the Invest in People Campaign.
The Invest in People campaign team believes that with increased need comes the opportunity for the philanthropy sector to meet the moment with a coordinated commitment to establish new cornerstones for giving.
‘GivingTuesday could be an opportunity for funders to use their megaphones to create a unified message: Invest in People’, says Jamie McDonald, Chief Strategic Officer at GivingTuesday.
The campaign will seek to amplify voices of nonprofit staff support private funders and nonprofit recipients with toolkits, resources, and websites; and encourage private and institutional funders to pledge additional human resource funding between GivingTuesday and the end of the year.
