Fundación Telefónica (Teléfonica Foundation) will support the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) to improve the education level of more than one million children in Latin America over the next 10 years. Through an agreement signed during the 20th annual Ibero-American Summit in December 2010 and under the Proyecto Metas Educativas 2021 (Educational Goals Project 2021), the foundation will provide €500 million to various programmes over a 10-year period and €250,000 to the OEI to carry out joint projects. The Educational Goals Project aims specifically to increase the participation of society in education and to achieve non-discriminatory educational equality. Fundación Telefónica will also actively participate in the Programa Proniño (Pro-Child Programme), which seeks to eliminate child labour through quality education.
