WINGS – WINGS moves to Manila

The year began with a move to Manila for the WINGS Secretariat. The new WINGS Executive Director, Marissa Camacho-Reyes, and the continuing Programme Manager, Gina Estipona, have been working to establish a new base for the Secretariat under the auspices of the Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC).

Updated contact information is available from the WINGS website, and a new online subscription feature is in place for organizations and individuals wishing to receive WINGS News (an e-newsletter which provides updates on WINGS activities as well as general philanthropic sector news) and WINGS-CF Happenings (which gives occasional updates from the community foundation network).

At the time of the move, the main WINGS programmes are very much in place. Reports from the November 2006 WINGSForum and from the satellite meetings for the community foundation and corporate initiative networks are available from the WINGSForum website.

The WINGS Global Fund for Community Foundations is about to consider the next round of organizational development and challenge grants. It has also been working on developing a database of consultants who can provide technical support to its grantees on various aspects of community foundation development.
