WINGS – WINGSForum goes to Italy

Hosted by the Italian Association of Foundations and Grantmaking Organizations (Assifero) and the Associazione di Fondazioni e di Casse di Risparmio Spa (Association of Italian Foundations and Savings Banks – ACRI), the four-yearly WINGSForum will be held this year from 18 to 20 November in Como, Italy.

The gathering will be framed by the outcomes of the meeting of global philanthropic leaders convened last year by WINGS, the Council on Foundations and the European Foundation Centre. Under the theme ‘Innovation and Impact: The Role of Grantmaker Associations in Changing Society’, three primary topics will be discussed:

  • improving the legal and enabling environment for global philanthropy;
  • developing models for more effective philanthropic collaborations to address global challenges; and
  • engaging philanthropy more strategically with policymakers and multilateral organizations.

Lake
ComoThe sessions will feature studies of innovative solutions to problems that can be scaled up and/or replicated in other parts of the world; ideas on improving the legal and enabling environment for cross-border giving; innovation and practical tools to be effective as a grantmaker association/philanthropy support organization. Plenary sessions will also look critically at the role of support organizations in linking policymakers, multilaterals and philanthropy.
