This year, we’re bringing you 25 moments to celebrate 25 years of Alliance magazine being at the heart of global philanthropy.

To kick off our anniversary year, we asked you to vote for your favourite special feature from the past 25 years. You selected ‘Philanthropy and Power’ and so we revisited the topic in an Alliance Extra looking at what has changed since 2013 and whether founders are more willing to give power.
Future of philanthropy event series
As the only truly global philanthropy publication, we’re celebrating our 25th anniversary with six online events held in local timezones in the Arab region, Latin America, North America, Africa, Europe and Asia, .
We’ll be working with key partners around the world to explore what the future of philanthropy holds in each of these regions. Are you based in of these regions and interested in attending? Receive updates by signing-up for announcements.
Events
Wherever you are in the world, you’ll be able to join one of our 25 moments online. This year, we’ll be hosting webinars on Scale up philanthropy, Black women in philanthropy, #ShiftThePower, The future of the philanthropy focused media.
Each of the sessions will include an expert panel who will be asked to consider this subject by using the current year as a reflection point to look back over the last 25 years and ahead in to the future. Four times a year, we will also bring together leading philanthropy practitioners, non-profit leaders, academics and others to discuss questions arising from the special feature in the latest issue of the magazine.

Our 100th issue
Our September 2021 magazine will be the 100th issue of Alliance, and we will be producing a one off 100-page collector’s edition to mark the occasion.
Joining the Alliance magazine editorial team as guest editors will be former long-time editor Caroline Hartnell, Maria Chertok of Charites Aid Foundation in Russia and Ingrid Srinath of the Centre for Social Impact & Philanthropy in India. The bumper issue will explore the emergence of philanthropy as a global phenomenon and profession, key issues for philanthropy over the last 25 years and in the future, the need for philanthropy to take urgent action against climate change, and more!

The greatest philanthropic initiatives? We want to hear from you
In April we asked our readers to reflect on how they think philanthropy has developed over the last quarter of a century (for good or for bad), identify key individuals and organisations and suggest great philanthropic initiatives from the period. We also wanted to know how you see the see the sector developing over the next 25 years and we will be publishing the results in our 100th issue.
