Towards a self-sustaining infrastructure

Lee DavisIt’s time to place greater value on ‘infrastructure’[1] in the non-profit sector and on those ‘invisible’ infrastructure-building organizations that work to build it. These organizations need to be recognized as an essential part of building a healthy and sustainable non-profit sector, and this means being willing to pay for their services. If we are to move away from a purely subsidized infrastructure sector, a strategic and fair fee-for-service model, supplemented by donor support to ensure wider access, may be at least part of the answer.
