On 6 July, over 1,600 people dressed in gala style filled London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the achievements of 14 leading British companies who were judged to be ‘making a difference’ in terms of shaping new, sustainable ways of doing business. Business in the Community’s Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner was crowned by the presence of HRH Prince of Wales, who is President of BITC. This Oscar-style evening showed what great importance is being given to the topic of corporate social responsibility in the UK.
