Australian Buffett announces plans to give away $8 billion fortune

Andrew Forrest, the richest man in Australia, promised last month to give nearly all of his $8 billion fortune to charity before he dies. Forrest, who owns Fortescue Metals, has not so far divulged the recipients of his benevolence, although recipients of his giving to date have been Australia’s aborigines and the Australian Children’s Trust, to which he donated company shares valued at roughly $80 million last autumn.
