International Grantmaking IV, a new Foundation Center study of international grantmaking trends commissioned by the Council on Foundations, reports that US foundations gave an estimated $5.4 billion for international purposes in 2007. The figure includes both direct grants to overseas recipients and funding for US-based organizations conducting international programmes.
