Michael Brophy wins leadership prize in 2009 UK Charity Awards

People often ask me what Michael Brophy is doing these days. I am delighted now to have something very positive to offer in this regard as Michael was recently honoured with the Outstanding Leadership Award at the 2009 UK Charity Awards – I can’t think of a more deserving recipient. Daniel Phelan, editor of Charity Finance, has written an excellent account of Michael’s myriad achievements in his 20 years as chief executive of the Charities Aid Foundation and since. Michael was a true ‘social entrepreneur’ long before the term became a philanthropy buzzword.
