Million-pound donors contributing nearly 5 per cent of UK charities’ total income

Higher education institutions, health charities and international aid/development organizations are the chief beneficiaries of the UK’s largest donations, according to the Coutts Million Pound Donors Report, published in November. The report found that the total value of the 193 gifts of £1 million or more made in 2006-07 was £1.6 billion in 2006-07.
