New home for Stanford Social Innovation Review

Stanford University’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS) has acquired the journal Stanford Social Innovation Review. It was previously housed in the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. The acquisition, which was announced on 5 October and effective immediately, was funded by an array of US foundations including the Hewlett, Moore, Rockefeller and Kellogg Foundations and the Carnegie Corporation of New York, as well as contributions from individual philanthropists and on-campus supporters, including the Office of the President. The journal will provide a forum for the Center’s research, while the Center will give SSIR greater intellectual clout. As one source close to the partners put it, the effect will be to create ‘an intellectual hub for philanthropy and social innovation’.
