Summing up the five-year work of the CFI, a collaboration between the World Bank and foundations, led by the Council on Foundations International Programs Committee, the report suggests that it is still too early to assess the full extent of the Initiative’s impact. However, while there is clear interest in the community foundation approach as a way to support community-driven development, the Bank still lacks the expertise to provide technical assistance to its counterparts to encourage this approach.
