World Congress for Muslim Philanthropists

More than 200 participants from over 31 countries came together for the first World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists in Istanbul in March. Much of the discussion focused on improving the effectiveness of philanthropy through approaches such as cross-sector partnership that leverage the resources and strengths of several sectors, and more focus on communications and management. Participants included the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, and the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
