CEMEFI – Best CSR practices award for Latin America

As part of the International Seminar on Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Practices, Cemefi, along with the Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (AliaRSE) and the international network Forum Empresa, presented the Best CSR Practices Award on 27 September in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico. The award ceremony host was UNIRSE Jalisco, a local network of corporate foundations that seeks to promote a new corporate culture in the area.

CEMEFI_awardsDuring the accompanying seminar, participants from seven Latin American countries (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras and Peru) and from different states of Mexico had the opportunity to learn about the 46 corporate practices that won the award in 2011: 26 from Mexico and 19 from Latin America more widely.

Award-winning practices are developed by a corporation, and their results must be measurable, innovative, sustainable and replicable. Apart from fulfilling the corporation’s needs, practices also meet the demands of at least one of its stakeholders.

The International Seminar on Best CSR Practices is an event that creates a community of shared learning, said Jorge Villalobos Grzybowicz, executive president of Cemefi, speaking at the award ceremony. It allows corporations to set out the elements of success of their CSR practices and become a role model for corporations starting out in this area.
