Destapa Futuro supporting social entrepreneurs and BOP projects in Colombia

A new round of the Destapa Futuro (Open the Future) programme has been launched in Colombia to provide assistance to social entrepreneurs and to support social and economic investment in so-called base of the pyramid (BOP) projects and communities. Supported by the Bavaria Company, the largest drinks company in Colombia, Destapa Futuro is calling for ideas, projects and organizations that are innovative, international in scope, and showing a high potential for impact through the development of income, employment and benefits for their communities.

According to Bavaria, the aim of the programme is not only to overcome difficulties of access to information among a large section of the population but also to help them obtain financing to turn viable ideas into ‘seeds for the necessary economic and social transformation of Colombia’. To this end, it has USD2 million in seed capital at its disposal.
