Foundation Center: SDG wizard

The Inter-agency and Expert Group on SDG Indicators has developed a set of measureable indicators to help facilitate a robust follow-up, tracking and review mechanism for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a stakeholder in the development ecosystem, global philanthropy has an enormous opportunity to lead the way in achieving the SDGs and global data practices. Global efforts to improve its own financial and programme data capacity, tracking abilities, and impact measurement will ensure resources are being used where they are needed most to achieve the SDGs.

news-foundation-centre-wizardsTo that end, Foundation Center has built SDG Indicator Wizard, a tool to support organizations in their SDG strategy development and data collection. It helps foundations understand which SDGs their work relates to and which indicators they should track and measure against at a global level, in conjunction with their own unique indicators. This will enable implementing organizations to collect data that is universally comparable between countries, institutions and governments.

SDG Indicator Wizard was launched on 21 September 2016 at the ‘Convergence: Philanthropy as a partner in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’ side event during UN General Assembly opening week. The tool is being hosted on SDGfunders.org and freely accessible for everyone.
