Healthcare volunteering award taking nominations

Nominations are being taken for the 2011 Clarence H Moore Award for Excellence for Voluntary Service, which honours the achievement of national or local NGOs working in the public health sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, and which have a high volunteer-to-staff ratio. The award, which is jointly administered by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF), consists of both a cash prize and a more symbolic form of recognition. Last year’s winner was the Peruvian League against Cancer, in recognition of its work in providing a range of screening and health services to combat cancer. The deadline for submissions is 13 May.
