A group of specialists say that due to the world economic crisis, the number of volunteers in Argentina will rise in 2009, mainly in welfare-related activities and those serving people’s basic needs. However, they warn it is necessary to create a proper structure: to manage the growth in the number of individuals volunteering, more resources, infrastructure and training will be needed, according to Oscar García, a teacher at the San Martín National University.
