Social investment fund recognized for supporting sustainable housing in Mexico

IGNIA Fund I, LP is a social investment fund that invests in high-growth businesses in Latin America. By providing effective responses to the needs of people with few resources, IGNIA produces both social impact and financial returns for its investors. A few weeks ago, it was announced that the Jardines del Grijalva housing complex, in which IGNIA is an investor, and Casas Premin had been recognized by the Instituto del Fondo Nacional de la Vivienda (National Housing Fund Institute) for stimulating sustainable housing in Mexico.

Last year, IGNIA Fund I invested more than USD 2 million for the expansion of Jardines del Grijalva to enable the construction of affordable, ecological and socially sustainable housing in Chiapas, one of the poorest areas of Mexico. Casas Premin was recognized for applying design and construction methods to the project that help create sustainable living spaces and social well-being. ‘The work carried out by Casas Premin is perfectly in line with IGNIA’s mission to create innovative affordable housing solutions for the development of more humane and harmonious communities, thus directly impacting the quality of life of people at the base of the socio-economic pyramid (BoP),’ said Álvaro Rodríguez Arregui, co-founder and general director of IGNIA.
