The Regional Ministerial Secretariat of the Chilean Government, the University of Antofagasta and the Xstrata Copper mining company have come together in a significant public-private initiative aimed at promoting citizen participation. The initiative, called Escuela para el Liderazgo Comunitario (School for Community Leadership), aims at strengthening social leadership, improving management of neighbourhood units and boosting the region’s local development.
