‘Talent scouting’ agency for NGOs launched

A UK-based consultancy service which will act as an intermediary and facilitator in the relations between donors and NGOs was officially launched at the end of March. Projects Direct.net will put its media and presentation skills at the disposal of NGOs to give donors higher-quality proposals and more robust development partnerships.

In the words of its founder and director, Tim Williams, it aims to identify good projects and ‘be the Northern representative of NGOs in the South or East and find funding’. Among its initial projects are a UK government-funded training project organized by Intermedia Pakistan and the Media Diversity Institute and supporting, with other consultants and on behalf of the UK’s Department for International Development, the mid-term review of a £90 million facility for 27 leading European NGOs. It has also won funding for an online newspaper, which supports leading journalists in the Caucasus region of the Russian Federation.
