Partners For A New Economy – a philanthropic programme committed to supporting a new economic vision and building power to redesign the economy so all life can thrive – has announced that the Hewlett Foundation will join their cohort of funding partners with an initial commitment of $500,000.

Hewlett joins P4NE’s other funding partners, including MAVA, Oak, Marisla, KR, Laudes and Ford Foundations, as well as Omidyar Network.

‘We’re delighted to welcome Hewlett to Partners For A New Economy. Hewlett has played a pivotal role in expanding the intellectual foundations and framing for a new ‘common sense’ about how the economy should work. Our partnership strengthens US-Europe funder connections, to deepen our exploration and support for redesigning our economies. We know no organisation can bring about a paradigm shift alone, so collaboration both within and beyond philanthropic circles is vital,’ said Jo Swinson, P4NE Director.

Hewlett’s collaboration with P4NE signals a growing interest from philanthropy to understand and resource new economic thinking and ideas. Funders are working with increasing frequency around this agenda, coordinating with each other across countries to build momentum.
