Coutts this week published their latest Million Dollar Donors Report, which tracked 2,197 gifts of $1 million or more, worth a total of $56 billion across the UK, the US and the Middle East (GCC) in 2015. The report tells a very positive story about the growth in major giving, with the number of donations increased by 57% compared to 2014.

The report identifies charitable donations worth $1m or more that were made during the calendar year 2015, either by donors in the US and the Middle East (GCC), or to charities based in these countries. The report also identifies all known charitable donations worth £1m or more that were made either by UK donors or to UK-based charities during the calendar year 2015.

The report includes interviews with philanthropists like Lloyd Dorfman CBE and organizations such as Omidyar Network and the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, as well as a commentary on major philanthropy across Europe, in partnership with Alliance, which highlights some of the less researched countries in southern Europe and trends that are likely to shape the future of philanthropy on the continent.
