A statement released today by Philea, the Philanthropy Europe Association, and signed by 12 European and American foundations asserts solidarity and support to the people of Ukraine, one year on from Russia’s invasion.

The statement was launched today at an event hosted by Philea that brought together some 130 participants for a conversation with 2022 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Oleksandra Mativiichuk.

‘As we mark the one-year anniversary of the unjust and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and condemn the continued aggression of the Russian regime, we remain committed to supporting an independent, resilient, secure and sustainable Ukraine’, reads the statement.

Signatories of the statement include the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Council on Foundations, Maecenata Stiftung, Robert Bosch Stiftung, and the Stefan Batory Foundation, among others.

This statement ‘is a recognition of the depth of complexity of the long-term needs’ in Ukraine, said Delphine Moralis, Philea CEO, at the event today.
