The India Philanthropy Alliance has raised $1.4 million as part of its India Giving Day campaign. The Alliance, a network of leading India-focused nonprofits in the US, held the Giving Day in March, and attracted more than 1,000 unique donors supporting humanitarian and environmental causes in India.

India Giving Day mobilised donors across the US, particularly within the Indian diaspora in America, and celebrated its campaign through a series of online and in-person gatherings, including events in Washington D.C., Dallas, and Chicago.

‘Our ability to attract more than 1,000 unique donors in our first year exceeded our expectations. Indian-Americans and young people were enthusiastic, imaginative, and generous in their celebration of India Giving Day, which bodes well for future campaigns.’ Said Alex Counts, Director of the India Philanthropy Alliance.
