‘A ‘must’ if you’re serious about scaling…it’s a great mix of ideas and practical examples.’ (Apple Podcast Review US, 2022)

Extreme poverty, climate change, racial injustice. As the world’s problems accelerate, so should our solutions. The work done by nonprofits, philanthropy, and mission-driven leaders everywhere is essential if we are to tackle these issues. As it stands, the sector is doing a lot of great work, just not at the scale needed. But with the right strategies, mindsets, and tools, we could be helping many more people and changing an ever-growing number of lives.

So how do we scale our impact effectively to meet the true size of today’s social challenges? This is the question Spring Impact has been working to answer for years. It’s why we started the Mission to Scale podcast – to share the vision, insights, and practical advice of brilliant nonprofit leaders from across the globe who have successfully pursued change at scale.

Following a successful first season, the podcast is now back with a new series revealing what leaders need to know to achieve greater impact in the nonprofit world. We’re thrilled to be joined by Alliance Magazine as our Media Partner for this season, and bring these insights to those interested in philanthropy and social investment across the world.

This new series features a line-up of incredible speakers, who share their unique perspectives and expertise on a range of topics – from scaling inclusive hiring to implementation science and social impact bonds. Some of the episodes include:

  • Scaling care for refugees, with Zarlasht Halaimzai, Founder & CEO at Amna
  • Coaching and Mentoring for Change Makers, with Wanjiku Nyachae, Gestalt Psychotherapist and & Chris Underhill, Social Entrepreneur & Professional Mentor
  • Breaking Employment Barriers Through Open Hiring, with Joseph Kenner, CEO of Greyston
  • Innovation in the Education Sector, with Andre Benin, Managing Partner of Rethink Education

You can also check out past episodes, which include, amongst many others, conversations with Planned Parenthood Global’s Interim Executive Director, Dawn Laguens, on innovating during moments of crisis; Ann Mei Chang, author of ‘Lean Impact: How to Innovate for Radically Greater Social Good’; and case studies of investing in scaling up from funders such as The National Lottery Community Fund.

Mission to Scale is an original Spring Impact podcast produced in partnership with Hueman Group Media, a media company that inspires social change through rich, impactful, and high-quality podcasts. It is hosted by Dan Berelowitz, who founded Spring Impact in 2011 based on his experiences starting and working across a range of social sector organisations, and his frustration at seeing them not scale up.

At Spring Impact, Dan has developed scaling and implementation plans for over 300 partners from Oxfam, GlaxoSmithKline, Nike Foundation, Population Services International, and Big Lottery to non-profits and social enterprises with huge potential to change more lives.

The second season is now live, available wherever you listen to podcasts, with new episodes released every Monday. You can listen to it here and don’t forget to subscribe to make sure you never miss a conversation. Throughout the season’s run, we will also be sharing insights from the podcast in the Alliance Magazine, so do keep an eye out for new blogs and articles coming up.

If you have any questions you’d like to share with the podcast team, don’t hesitate to reach out here.
