Jason Franklin, W K Kellogg Community Philanthropy Chair at the Johnson Center for Philanthropy, has announced a new initiative that aims to strengthen global community philanthropy.

The first step announced is a new joint effort between the Johnson Center for Philanthropy and the Global Fund for Community Foundations (GFCF) aimed at connecting research and practice to advance the field of global community philanthropy.

To kick off this work, they’ve released a Call for Expressions of Interest (with potential funding of US $2,500-5,000/project) inviting scholars, evaluators, and community philanthropy leaders to propose ideas for possible collaborative research projects.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 15, 2016. You can read more about this opportunity here.
