Caroline HartnellWe launched Latest from Alliance two years ago because we wanted to be in touch with our readers more frequently and to bring you items of breaking news and readers’ responses to previous articles as we receive them.

Now we are planning to transform Latest from Alliance into a global philanthropy blog, with a team of regular bloggers from all around the world plus occasional posts from guest bloggers, reports from philanthropy conferences around the world, and news items from Alliance.

As we launch, we have over 20 organizations/people signed up to blog with us. They come from Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, India, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, Uruguay and the USA. They will all be writing regularly on developments in philanthropy and social investment in their country/region. You can read more about them on the contributors’ profile page.

The new Latest from Alliance is fully interactive. Our aim is to encourage a global conversation about philanthropy. In our very first post, Chet Tchozewski, who is a board member of the US-based Council on Foundations, commenting on Steve Gunderson’s imminent and sad resignation as Council President and CEO, invites your views on the role the Council should play on the global stage. So please leave your comments and join in the conversation.
