If the next decade is a flashpoint for the world’s future, the relationship between climate movements working on the ground and the funders who support them is becoming yet more crucial. An expert panel representing climate movements and funders will discuss this idea later today at a webinar at 15:00 BST hosted by Alliance magazine and sponsored by Fondation de France. The webinar is a part of our ClimatePhilanthropy2030 commitment.
Following Alliance magazine’s recent issue on social movements, the lens is being turned to hear insights from funders of climate movements, as well as from movements themselves, on what is needed to work together more effectively in the face of the climate crisis.
The panel will include:
- Clare Farrell – the Co-Founder of Extinction Rebellion.
- Nnimmo Bassey – the Chair of Global Greengrants Fund’s Board of Directors, as well as the Founder and Director of the Health of Mother Earth Foundation. Nnimmo also guest edited an Alliance magazine issue on climate change philanthropy in 2016.
- Sonia Medina – the Executive Director of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation’s Climate Change portfolio.
- Elika Roohi – Digital editor at Alliance and moderator.
