The Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment (CAPSI) has published the first issue of its journal, the International Review of Philanthropy and Social Investment.

Edited by CAPSI Director and Alliance Editorial Advisory Board member Bhekinkosi Moyo with Director of the Institute for Indigenous Intelligence Imhotep Paul Alagidede, the journal is an interdisciplinary international journal for cutting- and leading-edge primary research on philanthropy and social investment.

It is a project CAPSI at the Wits Business School in South Africa, including wider perspectives. Aimed at the academic and research communities, it explores the emergent and developing field of philanthropy and social investment in Africa and beyond. The first issue includes contributions from many leaders in African philanthropy, as well as Alliance writers, including Halima Mahmomed, Tendai Murisa, Gill Bates, and Pamala Wiepking.

The journal seeks to address the research gap when it comes to African philanthropy and social investment. As a result, it includes both full-length academic articles as well as empirical experiences from practitioners.

The International Review of Philanthropy and Social Investment will be published three times a year. To read the first issue, click here.
